Making Progress in the MGE

Marshall said yesterday, when the computer wasn’t working, “Where is God when you need Him?”

My response was ‘You just have to ask Her. She won’t just interfere.” I didn’t think about those feminine pronouns; they just rolled out like gum balls.

I also experienced Mother God more as BFF than unrelenting truth-teller the other day. I was thinking about my past mistakes with Marshall and wondering how to rectify them. I felt Mother God say I would be a good mother the rest of Marshall’s childhood and wouldn’t make those same mistakes.

Using the mother metaphor is allowing me to see God as encourager, that She encourages me, not only others. She encourages me mother-to-mother. She understands heartbreak over Her children’s suffering. She gets blamed too, held responsible for things that break Her own heart. She does know the way that I take (Job 23:10).
